Get ready for the new year with these key dates and times, school supply lists, and other information.
First Day of Classes
Our first day of classes is Tuesday, September 2, 2025 and our school office is open to parents on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 9:00 AM for registration and assistance.
- Tuesday, September 2, 2025
- Grade 7 students will attend from 9:15 AM to 12:45 PM.
- A hot dog lunch will be served at 12:00 PM.
- Buses will transport students to the school in the morning, but parents are responsible for picking them up after lunch.
- There will be a Grade 7 Parent Orientation in the gym during the morning session—Welcome to Junior High!
- Grades 8 and 9 will attend from 1:45 PM to 3:48 PM.
- Parents are responsible for getting students to school for the afternoon session.
- Buses will be available at the end of the day to take students home.
- ALP, ACCESS and TASC students will be at school for the full day
- Wednesday, September 3, 2025
All students in Grades 7 to 9 will have a regular day of classes from 9:15 AM to 3:48 PM.
School buses will run on their regular schedule, which can be found in your MyCBE app.

School Supplies
Equip your child for a successful school year with our selection of essential supplies!
MidSun School Supply List
In grade 7, 8 and 9, students need to purchase and bring their own supplies to school. This is a change from elementary school where all supplies are provided. The following is a basic starter list of items which all students will need. There may be other supplies specified by your teachers which are course dependant, and will be shared with students once school resumes in September. ACCESS and ALP students should follow the specific list provided by their teachers and do not need all of these items.
Pens - Blue, Black, and any other preferred color
Pencils- it is recommended to have extras for the year as these are the most common writing utensil
Lined paper- 10 packages for use throughout the year
Unlined paper
Erasers
White out
White board markers (4 pack)
Graph paper- 1 cm and .5 cm grid (1 small pkg of each)
Pencil crayons
Felt Markers
Hand held, manual pencil sharpener, with a cover
Glue sticks
Scissors
Geometry set (protractor and compass are required and can be purchased separately)
Ruler
Calculator
Grade 7- basic functions
Grade 8- basic functions and square root button required
Grade 9- basic functions, including square root and exponents function required
Dictionary, thesaurus and atlas - to use at home
Something to store paper, both lined and handouts, in:

Regular binders
Zipper binders
Plastic file folder for multiple subjects
Whatever else may fit your child’s needs for organization
Binder dividers (if student chooses the binder option)
Sharpies (regular tipped, black, colored are optional)

School lunchtime is a lively break where students share food and stories, laughter and lively social interactions!

Digital technologies are transforming how we teach our students. We utilize a range of technology tools to personalize each student’s learning experience, including getting connected to Wi-Fi for seamless access to educational resources.
Off-Site Activities
Keep updated on field-trips and other exciting off-site activities throughout the year. We're excited to expand on learning opportunities by stepping outside of the classroom.
