Hello, parents & guardians of MidSun School students,

 

Happy Back to School!

The MidSun School Council and MidSun School Education Enhancement Society (MSEES) are proud to represent our school community and partner with the MidSun School's team of staff and administrators to strengthen our great school. We hope you'll be part of the process! 

We know this year will be a busy one, so before we get too far into September I thought now was a good time to remind you of some important upcoming events & initiatives. I hope you find this helpful and am excited to (hopefully) meet you soon at our upcoming School Council Meeting & AGM this month!

 

School Council Meeting & AGM (Thursday, September 26, 2023 - 7:00 pm in the Learning Commons). 

Mark your calendars! Please join us at this first meeting of the year to hear about all that's going on at MidSun, have a voice in what the Council focuses their time and energy on and how our money is spent, and vote in this year's MidSun School Council & Education Enhancement Society's executive. Snacks & beverages will be supplied by the council, doors open at 6:30 pm. If you are interested in filling a spot on the Council please reach out directly to MidSunSchoolCouncil@gmail.com. 

 

Popcorn Days & Fun Lunch are Back this Year! 

Starting in October, we will be offering Fun Lunches approximately twice a month. These are catered lunches by local restaurants with all funds raised supporting our school and students. Please place all orders through Healthy Hunger (www.healthyhunger.ca).  

 

Volunteers are always needed! 

Please consider getting your CBE Security Clearance - we promise it's easy - to allow you to volunteer on field trips, during Fun Lunches, and/or provide teacher support. Visit the CBE website (https://school.cbe.ab.ca/school/chaparral/get-involved/volunteer) for more information and the required registration. CBE Security Clearances are valid for 5 years, if you have one from another school please stop the office to confirm it can be transferred over. If you have any questions, or want to ensure you are on our list of volunteers, please reach out to Jenine or Sarah at MidSunSchoolCouncil@gmail.com.
