From Administration

We had a wonderful week at MidSun, highlighted by our Grade 6 tours and a fantastic turnout at our Open House. It was a pleasure welcoming so many future students and families into our school community.

A huge congratulations goes out to the cast and crew of Shrek the Musical! Your hard work and dedication truly paid off. Thank you as well to everyone who came out to support the performances—we had a record-breaking audience of over 450 attendees across our three show dates.

We are excited to share that we will host one additional performance for students from Fish Creek School on April 28 at 1:30 PM. Our guests will walk over for the performance, and this will be a special opportunity to showcase the incredible talent of our students once again.

A reminder that our final rehearsal will take place on April 27 from 4:00–5:30 PM. Students involved in the production will also be excused from their after-lunch class on April 28 to prepare for the matinée.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and school community.

Did You Know…

Did you know that Indigenous ways of learning are rooted in connection, experience, and community?

At MidSun, we are committed to Truth and Reconciliation by creating opportunities for students and staff to engage in learning that is:

  • Experiential (learning by doing)
  • Relational (learning through connection with others and the land)
  • Holistic (supporting mind, body, and spirit)

Our recent and upcoming learning experiences, including storytelling, drumming, and staff professional learning, support the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action, particularly in strengthening understanding, respect, and inclusive practices in schools.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey grounded in reflection, relationships, and meaningful action—and every step forward matters.

Plant Fundraiser Update

Thank you for your incredible support—together we sold 233 plants! Plant pick-up will take place on May 7 at MidSun School between 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

We are looking for a few parent volunteers to help review orders on May 6, as well as assist during pick-up on May 7. If you are available to support in either role, please email chkushniruk@cbe.ab.ca

Thank you again for supporting our school community!
