From Administration

As we approach the end of the term, we want to share important information about report cards, IPP’s, ongoing assessment updates in PowerSchool, and upcoming Student Learning Conferences. This email outlines what to expect, key dates, and resources to support you in staying informed about your child’s learning.

IPPs

For students with an IPP, teachers will be reviewing and updating goals to reflect current learning needs. Updated targets and strategies will be sent home for review on Feb 23. Please connect with your child’s IPP coordinating teacher if you have any questions, or feedback on the updated cycles.

PowerSchool

We also encourage families to regularly check PowerSchool for up-to-date assessment and learning information throughout the year, as this provides an ongoing picture of student progress.

For support with navigating PowerSchool and viewing marks, please see the following video tutorial:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN7aNET71a4

Report Cards

Report cards will be released through PowerSchool on February 24.

On that day, families will be able to log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal to view and download their child’s report card:

https://powerschool.cbe.ab.ca/public/

Report Card Comments

Teacher comments will focus on areas of strength and areas for growth in Humanities and Math/Science. Comments are written in a holistic manner, which allows teachers to thoughtfully address the individual learning needs of each student, rather than repeating comments across subject areas.

Student Learning Conferences

Student Learning Conferences will take place on February 26 and 27. More information about conference times and booking procedures will be shared with families prior to Teachers’ Convention.

If you have difficulty accessing PowerSchool or need assistance with your login information, please contact the school office and we will be happy to help.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Did You Know? – Fridays Matter At MidSun School

Attendance Impacts Learning

Missing Fridays often means:

• Missed instructions

• More catching up on weekends

• Increased stress the following week

Being here on Friday helps students start Monday confident and prepared.
