Grade 9 → Grade 10 Transition Planning

Planning for the Grade 9 to Grade 10 transition (2026–27) is already underway. This week, we are pleased to welcome our feeder high school team from Centennial High School to MidSun for student and parent presentations. Grade 9 families will also receive a brief survey to help us better understand questions and supports needed for a smooth transition.

  • Wednesday, January 21, Centennial High School staff will be visiting MidSun School to speak with Grade 9 students during Periods 3 and 4 - overview of high school life and the transition to Grade 10.
  • Thursday, January 22 at 6:00 pm - MidSun Gym - Centennial High School - Parent Information Night at MidSun School with Centennial High School administration 
  • Thursday, January 29 at 7:00–9:00 pm - Centennial High School Open House from 7:00–9:00 pm at Centennial  High School. 

Band Concert Congratulations

Congratulations to Mr. Hutchinson and our band students on a fantastic concert this past week. Thank you for sharing your talents and hard work with our school community — it was a wonderful evening of music.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: As required under new Alberta legislation, opt-in consent is required for student participation in Human Sexuality instruction; consent forms were sent home last week and must be completed and returned to the school by January 29

Junior Police Academy
Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a police officer? The Calgary Police Service Junior Police Academy gives youth aged 12 to 16 the opportunity to find out.

Junior Police Academy runs three times a year.

Drama Production

We are doing Shrek the Musical Jr. as MidSun's 2026 production!

Rehearsals Schedule: Monday & Wednesday 4:00-5:30 pm in the Drama Room

* Note: not every student will be called for every rehearsal to be respectful of their time. Students in the production should watch the Shrek Google Classroom and morning announcements to know their rehearsal schedule. 

Save the Date: Shrek the Musical Jr. show will be in April 15-17 at Centennial High School.  Ticket information will be shared closer to the show dates.
