Due to the CUPE strike, our Parent-Teacher Conferences will now be held online instead of in person. Details, including dates and sign-up instructions, will be shared with families prior to your interview time.

Once you log onto the TEAMS meeting link for your child’s interview, you will be logging into the waiting room for the teacher to give you access to the meeting. A suggested practice is to log onto the TEAM meeting link 5 minutes prior to your scheduled meeting time.

School Engagement Parent/Guardian Survey: School Planning 2025-2026
Our annual parent/guardian engagement survey opened Friday, March 7, 2025. Our survey will be closed on Monday, March 31, 2025. This survey gives parents/guardians an opportunity to provide feedback as we begin to plan for the 2025 - 2026 school year. Topics covered in the survey are the school development plan, budget, and fees. The survey will take ~10 minutes to complete.

Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) May/June 2025
In May and June of this year, Grade 9 students across the province will participate in the Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs). Results from these tests will provide Alberta Education, school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, students, and the public with information about what students know and can do in relation to provincial standards at the end of Grade 9. These results can be used to improve learning opportunities for students and inform our School Development Plans for 2024-27

Labour Action Update - CUPE Strike
For the latest and most accurate information on labour action in the CBE, please CLICK HERE. A few reminders to changes for MidSun School:
- Regular classes continue for all students.
- All students need to exit the building no later than 4:35pm
- Exceptions are volleyball practices and drama rehearsals. These will end by 5:30pm.
- Volleyball games at Schools - Only parents/guardians/family members of participants are able to view games.
A large thank you to staff and students for their care of our building over the past week. We all play a role in keeping our amazing facility clean and safe.
High School Registration and Transition Information
It is that time of year when our Grade 9 students begin registering for their courses at their designated high schools. Does your child require an Epipen? For students who require access to medical supplies at school (i.e. epipen), please submit a Student Health Plan as soon as possible to midsun@cbe.ab.ca

Home for Lunch? MidSun School is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave the school grounds without prior parent consent.
If your child lives close enough to the school to go home for lunch, please email midsun@cbe.ab.ca that your child will be leaving for lunch. Students must check out at the office when they leave.
Staying for Lunch? Delivery Food Orders for students such as “Skip the Dishes, Door Dash, etc.” are not permitted at MidSun. Please do not send these orders to the school. Our main office will not accept delivery.
Please note that students need to provide their own utensils at lunch, as the school does not have a budget for this.
