Parents / Guardians
The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join us in an online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions are hosted in partnership with experts from Alberta Health Services and will explore topics such as vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health. Click here to learn more: Child and Youth Well-Being: A Webinar Series for Parents and Guardians
CBE educators believe that parents and guardians can inspire their kids to make healthy lifestyle choices and increase protective factors – in order to do so, they need the right tools and information. Well-being is a precondition for learning. As our understanding of student well-being continues to evolve, it is important for those that support children and youth to stay up to date on the same information so everyone can support student success. The intention of the series is to advance student well-being by raising family and caregiver’s understanding of a variety of health-related topics. Thank you for your time and consideration to join us.

GSA
We will meet every day 3 at lunch in the Drama room. All are welcome!
What is a GSA?
Gay Straight Alliances / Genders & Sexualities Alliances, or GSAs for short, are student-run organizations that unite LGBTQIA2+ and allied youth to build community and organize issues impacting them in their schools and communities. GSAs have evolved beyond their traditional role to serve as safe spaces for LGBTQIA2+ youth in middle and high schools and have emerged as vehicles for deep social change related to racial, gender, and educational justice.
A growing body of research confirms that the presence of a GSA has a positive and lasting effect on student health, wellness, and academic performance. It can also protect students from harassment based on sexual orientation or gender identity and improve school climates for all students in the long term.
Healthy Hunger - Fun Lunches

Yellow school bus service may be impacted by last-minute staffing challenges due to illness/weather. If your child’s bus is delayed, please check the CBE transportation website: https://cbe.ab.ca/schools/busing-and-transportation/Pages/default.aspx OR MyBusStop App for more information. The MidSun school code is: CBEMIKZSDO
This could also impact families using Calgary Transit. Families should have back-up plans in place if transportation is unavailable.
Parking and Bus Loop
As you are getting into your new routine for picking up and dropping off your students at school please remain mindful of traffic signs, speed limits and the many students walking to school. Sharing our space with Fish Creek School means there are twice the parents and students trying to safely navigate parking lots and streets. Reminder: The pull through lane is for our small yellow buses, and Southbound Sunmills Drive and Eastbound Suncastle Drive are bus zones for our big yellow buses so please arrange to meet your students on one of the other side streets around our school. For the safety of our students, parents please use one of the other side streets around our school. We thank you for your cooperation and help to ensure the front of our school is safe for all.
