Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to engage in conversation about your child’s learning. Parents/guardians and teachers are able to connect face-to-face and communicate openly about student learning, especially with respect to areas of strength and areas of growth. They help build and sustain respectful relationships that allow both parties to share information and develop strategies to support student success.
Conference Dates
- Thursday, November 28 at 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
- Friday, November 29 at 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
How to Book a School Conference
- Log-in to MyCBE. If you do not have an account, follow the Create a MyCBE Account instructions.
- Click on the My School Conferences icon.
- Click on the time slot that is available and convenient for you. Ensure pop-up windows are allowed.
- In the pop-up window, you will choose your child (you have the option to enter the student's name), the name of the parent / guardian is pre-filled, but can also be changed.
Create a MyCBE Account
- Go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on the “Create Parent Account” link.
Important: the email that you are using to create your account must be the same one you have provided to the school. If you are unsure, please contact the school office. - Once you have created an account, you will receive a confirmation email.
- After your account is confirmed, you can login to the system.
From Our Main Office
Parents - We need your help. Please Choose SAFETY over CONVENIENCE .
With the Winter season upon us, our protocols for dropping off and picking up students remain the same
- Please remain mindful of traffic signs, speed limits and the many students walking to school. Sharing our space with Fish Creek School means there are twice the parents and students trying to safely navigate parking lots and streets.
Parking and Drop Off Zones
- Our parking lot is for staff, substitutes and CBE personnel only and families with identified needs to access our parking lot.
- All visitors and parents are asked to park on the side streets, especially during our peak drop off times @ 8:45 - 9:05 AM and 3:40 - 4:05 PM.
- In order to ensure the safety of our children and to alleviate congestion and confrontation, it is essential that parents DO NOT drive into the parking lots to drop off or pick up their child.
- Encourage your children to use the designated crosswalk areas to avoid jaywalking.
- Please do not use the entrance driveways to turn your vehicle around. This causes unnecessary congestion and limited visibility that places our students at risk.
- A reminder that there are signs posted on either side of the entrances that indicate No Access to School Parking Lots.
- The pull through lane is for our small yellow buses, and Southbound Sunmills Drive and Eastbound Suncastle Drive are bus zones for our big yellow buses so please arrange to meet your students on one of the other side streets around our school.
We thank you for your cooperation and help to ensure the front of our school is safe for all.
Demographic Forms are OVERDUE. If you have NOT yet completed your child’s demographic forms for 24-25 - Please Log-in to MyCBE and complete the forms Online. This is very important for our office to have the most accurate information that is up to date.
Parents - Please return the signed IPP page to your child’s homeroom teacher if not yet completed. If there are questions or changes that require an additional conversation, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.
Winter Carnival 2024
The Leadership classes at MidSun School have been preparing for our traditional Winter Carnival. This is a school wide event that will be focusing on raising money for families in need this holiday season (Adopt-A-Family).
On Monday, December 9 our MidSun gymnasium will be transformed into a fun-filled day of games and activities for students to play. Students will need to either purchase a wristband for $10 or some individual tickets. A wristband allows for unlimited play. Students will have the chance to win draw tickets and these draw tickets will be entered for a chance to win prizes. In past carnivals some of the amazing prizes were: Air Pods; a Bluetooth speaker; Chinook Mall gift card; Amazon gift card etc. Prizes will be similar again this year and announced once they have been purchased.
Thank you for your support in this Annual Charity Event!
Stay tuned in the next few weeks about our Adopt-A-Family Program!

MIDSUN ANNUAL ADOPT-A-FAMILY CAMPAIGN
MidSun is at it again! We are launching the ADOPT-A-FAMILY charity program that will run over the next few weeks. From now until December 13, students and families are encouraged to help make Christmas just a bit better for families in great need.
In our display case in the front hallway, there will be gift tags with items on each family member’s wish list. Donations can also be in the form of cash, gift cards, or stocking stuffers.
Students are encouraged to talk to their parents about the items. If you are able to donate one of the items, students can take a tag from the front display case, attach it to the gift and turn it into Ms. Amirault. With any purchased gifts, could you please tape on a gift receipt in case the item does not fit. New items only, please no used gifts.
These are families in great need with children that we can help support. Every little bit counts.
Physical Education
The snow is finally here! We just want to send out a reminder to make sure your student(s) are bringing lace up shoes to PE every day, including Friday's. Students are more than welcome to sign up for a gym locker so they can place their running shoes in there, so they don’t take up space in their hallway lockers.
If your student is sick, injured, or going on an extended holiday, please email or write a note for their gym teacher and the office staff.
