From Administration

We wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend. As we move further into October, the cooler fall weather is certainly making its arrival! We have had a busy start to the school year, and it is wonderful to see students getting involved in the many learning opportunities and extracurricular activities at MidSun.

Dressing for Fall Weather

With temperatures changing, we remind families to ensure students are dressed appropriately for outdoor activities, including Physical Education classes. Layers, jackets, and appropriate footwear will help students stay comfortable and active as we move into the cooler months.

MidSun Wrestling Begins!

Our wrestling program begins the week of October 13! Practices will take place at the following times:

  • Morning: 7:45–8:45 a.m.
  • After School: 4:00–5:00 p.m.

Students participating in wrestling are expected to attend and remain for the full hour of their scheduled practices. We look forward to another great season!

Seussical Jr. Musical Rehearsals

Our MidSun musical rehearsals are underway! Students participating in Seussical Jr. will rehearse every Friday from 1:30–3:00 p.m. We are excited to see our talented students bring this production to life!

CBE Student Well-Being Survey | October 13–November 27

On October 5, families received information regarding the annual CBE Student Surveys.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in the Fall CBE Well-Being Survey between October 13 and November 27. This voluntary and anonymous survey gathers student feedback about belonging, relationships, safety, and well-being. Student voice is an important part of our school improvement planning and helps us better understand students' experiences at MidSun.

Parental consent is collected through the Annual Authorization Forms in SchoolEngage. Families who have already completed these forms do not need to take further action. Families who have not yet completed them are asked to do so by Friday, October 9. As outlined in the October 5 letter, if no response is received by the deadline, consent will be assumed. Student participation remains voluntary.

Thank you to our MidSun families for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to another great week of learning, connection, and opportunities for our students!

REMINDER: Terry Fox Donations are Still Being Accepted

There is still time to contribute! Online donations will remain open until October 16.

Thank you for helping us keep Terry’s Marathon of Hope alive!

Fridays Matter at MidSun!

Did you know… every Friday counts?

Fridays may be shorter school days, but they are just as important for learning, building friendships, and staying connected.

Every Friday provides opportunities for students to:

  • Stay on track with their learning and assignments.
  • Build positive relationships with peers and teachers.
  • Participate in classroom activities and experiences.
  • Finish the week feeling successful and connected.

Strong attendance builds strong habits! Thank you, families, for helping students make every school day count — including Fridays!

DRAMA

  • October 14 at 11:00 AM - Drama Field Trip: Little Shop of Horrors at Theatre Calgary!
