If we don't have enough volunteers, we will be disqualified from this event. This fundraiser typically results in funds over $65,000 for the school. These funds are used for technology and equipment that benefit our whole school. Previous Casino funds paid for our C&C machine, new science equipment, athletic equipment, musical instruments, and more. This is one volunteer role you don't need a police clearance for and we encourage you to sign up with a friend! Futures In Trades and Technology Event Oct 20 & 21 9:00 am – 5:00 pm  @ Telus Spark Centre 220 Saint George’s Drive NE, Calgary

The Futures In Trades and Technology (FITT) event is an immersive experience, providing a unique opportunity to explore Alberta's industry collaborations, sustainability initiatives, and emerging technologies in energy, technology, and construction sectors. This dynamic event offers interactive exhibits, technical demonstrations, and keynote speeches designed to foster professional growth, build connections, and expand knowledge. It serves as a platform to discover new opportunities in trades and technology. Attendees are encouraged to secure their spots for this limited availability event, offering an unparalleled chance to connect with industry leaders and #FindYourFITT in Alberta's energy, tech, and construction industries.

Tickets are free for students, and a general adult admission ticket is only $20 for the entire two days (which also provides access to all of Telus Spark Science Centre). 100% of the proceeds go to three charities: Women Building Futures, Raising Spirits (Children’s Hospital) and the Calgary Mental Health Association.

Pre-registration is required for free tickets or regular admission will be charged at the gate.

Parents / Guardians,

The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join us in an online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions will be hosted in partnership with experts from Alberta Health Services and will explore topics such as vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health.  Click here to learn more:  Child and Youth Well-Being:  A Webinar Series for Parents and Guardians

CBE educators believe that parents and guardians can inspire their kids to make healthy lifestyle choices and increase protective factors – in order to do so, they need the right tools and information.  Well-being is a precondition for learning. As our understanding of student well-being continues to evolve, it is important for those that support children and youth to stay up to date on the same information so everyone can support student success.  The intention of the series is to advance student well-being by raising family and caregiver’s understanding of a variety of health-related topics. Thank you for your time and consideration to join us.

Parking and Bus Loop

As you are getting into your new routine for picking up and dropping off your students at school please remain mindful of traffic signs, speed limits and the many students walking to school. Sharing our space with Fish Creek School means there are twice the parents and students trying to safely navigate parking lots and streets. Reminder: The pull through lane is for our small yellow buses, and Southbound Sunmills Drive and Eastbound Suncastle Drive are bus zones for our big yellow buses so please arrange to meet your students on one of the other side streets around our school. For the safety of our students, parents are asked to use on of the other side streets around our school. We thank you for your cooperation and help to ensure the front of our school is safe for all.
