MidSun Students:
· MidSun students will be able to view the first home game (4:30pm start) without parent/guardian supervision. Students are to remain in the main gym watching the game.
· Once the first game is complete, school administration will help all MidSun students without a parent/guardian leave the building.
· MidSun students will need to be directly supervised by a parent/guardian if they would like to stay and/or return at any point after the first game is complete.
· MidSun students are expected to be in the main gym watching the game(s) and supporting all players/coaches/referees/parents/guardians in a positive manner. Any student who is not meeting the CBE Student Code of Conduct will be escorted out of the gym and school and may lose future viewing privileges.
Students From Other Schools:
· Will not be admitted into the school, for any game(s), unless accompanied by a parent/guardian who stays for the duration of the time the student is in the building.
· Once teams from other schools have completed their games for the evening, all players must exit the building, unless accompanied by a parent/guardian who stays for the duration of the time the student is in the building.

MESSAGE FROM MIDSUN SCHOOL COUNCIL & MSEES
Hello MidSun School Parents and Guardians! We hope you find the below information helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at MidSunSchoolCouncil@gmail.com.
1st School Council Meeting & AGM - 7 pm, Tuesday, September 26, 2023
Please join us in the Learning Commons for this month's meeting. Doors open at 6:30 and our Chair, Kristine, is always there to welcome you. This month we will be holding our AGM, receiving a School Update from Principal Sherri Chatani and Assistant Principal Jenn Grant, and discussing upcoming events and other ways we can help our students and school community.
During the AGM portion of the evening, we will be electing our executive council members (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer). We are also looking for parents and guardians to fill our Key Communicator role, and join our Yearbook Committee and Fun Lunch Team. If you are interested in filling or learning more about any of these roles, please reach out to Kristine (MidSunSchoolCouncil@gmail.com) or Principal Sherri Chatani.
Volunteers Needed - MidSun Casino Fundraiser, October 26 & 27, 2023
Our Casino nights are just around the corner! Please consider volunteering some of your time to help us secure these dates. If we don't have enough volunteers, we will be disqualified from this event. This fundraiser typically results in funds over $65,000 for the school. These funds are used for technology and equipment that benefit our whole school. Previous Casino funds paid for our C&C machine, new science equipment, athletic equipment, musical instruments, and more. This is one volunteer role you don't need a police clearance for and we encourage you to sign up with a friend! To sign up or learn more, please email Kristine at MidSunSchoolCouncil@gmail.com OR click on this link: MidSun School Casino Fundraiser 2023 Volunteer Sign Up

MidSun School is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave the school grounds without parent consent. If your child lives close enough to the school to go home for lunch please email midsun@cbe.ab.ca that your child will be leaving daily for lunch. Students must check out at the office when they leave. Lunch is 12:14 pm-12:46 pm
Parking and Bus Loop
As you are getting into your new routine for picking up and dropping off your students at school please remain mindful of traffic signs, speed limits and the many students walking to school. Sharing our space with Fish Creek School means there are twice the parents and students trying to safely navigate parking lots and streets. Reminder: The pull through lane is for our small yellow buses, and Southbound Sunmills Drive and Eastbound Suncastle Drive are bus zones for our big yellow buses so please arrange to meet your students on one of the other side streets around our school. For the safety of our students, parents are asked to use on of the other side streets around our school. We thank you for your cooperation and help to ensure the front of our school is safe for all.
