Parents/Guardians – Important Safety Reminder - Parking and Student Drop Off
Choose SAFETY over CONVENIENCE - As routines for dropping off and picking up students resume, please be mindful of traffic signs, speed limits, and students walking to school. Sharing our space with Fish Creek School increases traffic, so extra caution is essential.
Parking & Drop-Off/Pick-Up Guidelines:
- School Parking Lot: Staff only, and families with identified needs. Parents and visitors should not drive into the lot for drop-off or pick-up.
- Drop-Off/Pick-Up Times: Peak times are 8:45–9:05 AM and 3:40–4:05 PM. Please use side streets to meet your child.
Bus Lanes:
- Pull-through lane: small yellow buses
- Southbound Sunmills Drive & Eastbound Suncastle Drive: big yellow buses Parents should avoid these zones.
Crosswalk Safety:
- Do not park within 5 meters of crosswalks.
- Encourage children to use designated crosswalks.
- Cars violating posted signs may be ticketed.
Neighborhood Courtesy:
- Be mindful of driveways, cul-de-sacs, and sidewalks.
- Bylaw officers regularly patrol the area, and complaints may be filed by community members.
Thank you for helping us keep students safe and traffic flowing smoothly around our school. Your cooperation ensures a safer journey for everyone.

Donations Needed Clothing and/or Fabric
As part of our building's ongoing commitment to hands-on, creative learning, MidSun is excited to continue offering school-wide STEAM and design challenges every other Friday.
To support these engaging activities, we are asking for donations of clothing and/or fabric that can be repurposed by students during their design and engineering challenges. These materials will help spark creativity and encourage sustainable thinking in our STEAM projects.
Items we are looking for include:
- Old or gently used clothing (shirts, pants, scarves, etc.)
- Fabric scraps or remnants
- Costumes or accessories
- Clean towels or sheets
Please ensure all items are clean and in reasonably good condition. Donations can be dropped off at the school office any day during regular school hours — Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 4:15 PM.
Your support makes a huge difference in enhancing our students’ learning experiences. Thank you for helping us make STEAM Fridays a success!

Complete Online Forms by Sept. 15
Each year, schools have a variety of forms that parents / legal guardians / independent students are required to complete or review and update, some of which are paper and others online. For families who have not yet completed these annual forms, please submit the Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms in SchoolEngage for your child by Monday, Sept. 15. These forms are required every year for Alberta Education to confirm student funding. We recognize certain families have already completed Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms for their children for the 2025-26 school year and we thank you for taking time to submit them.
Details of the online forms found in SchoolEngage include:
- Demographic Verification - 2025-26 – This required form is an Alberta Education requirement as proof of Registration for funding purposes and includes your child’s personal information as well as parent / legal guardian contact information.
- Citizenship Information Update - 2025-26 – This form becomes available if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.
- Annual Authorization - 2025-26 – Combines the following forms:
- School District Use of Personal Information - explains how CBE uses personal information in providing education services.
- Consent for CBE Use of Student Information – provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by school/district and third parties.
- Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (Third Party) - provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by outside groups and third parties
SchoolEngage is one of the applications found in your MyCBE account. This is the same account that you use to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, register to volunteer etc.
If you do not have a MyCBE account, on the MyCBE page click on Create a MyCBE Account. For online help, refer to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).
